The client

Sydney Church of England Grammar (Shore) School is an independent  Christian school for boys located in North Sydney. Shore is one of Australia’s leading private schools established in 1889, with a history dating as far back as back to 1845. The school has approximately 1600 students with 200 boarders.

The challenge

Shore had recently undertaken a review of its branding and adopted new guidelines. There was a need to ensure that there was consistency in the branding across the school.

The various printed products used in its external communication and internal operations were uncoordinated and spread over several suppliers.

The school did not have the internal resources, experience, and industry knowledge to undertake this work and sought Expense Reduction Analysts’  assistance.

The solution

Expense Reduction Analysts undertook an extensive review and analysis of all the incumbent suppliers used by Shore School. All items printed externally by the client were identified, including where and by whom they were used.

The review also found that there was a variation in print quality, supplier service and the ability to deliver on time.

This variation occurred across a range of products and by a number of the incumbent suppliers. It also found that the pricing of several key items was uncompetitive.

The result

Having identified these issues, it was decided to take Shore’s print business to market. Following this, the client determined that supplier changes needed to be made.

Expense Reduction Analysts worked with Shore School to implement these changes and continues to monitor, advise, and guide the school on their print needs.

"Now there is consistent branding across the school, and print products are coordinated. The quality, service, and delivery requirements were met at a significantly lower cost."
